Stuff From WALL-E

An Early Version of the AXIOM

  1. I am delighted to see your early work on the Axiom! Various elements from this design made it into the movie and were part of important scenes, such as the protruding "outriggers" from which Eve could look down and see the Life Pods. and the bridge's extension into space from the upper part of the atrium.

I wonder: Can you tell me how long the Axiom in its final form worked out to be? My guess, from examining frames of the film and approaching the issue various ways (the ARV and the early Axiom commercials) is about 4.5 kilometers in total length, or about 3 miles.

You contributed not just to an award winning animation, but to an instant classic of storytelling.
